JDA Software, Inc. and InContext Solutions recently announced that they have partnered up to combine their individual technology platforms. The amalgamation will deliver virtual reality-based visualization as well as category management abilities for retailers, enabling them to virtually walk across the store, updating assortments and planograms on the fly.

To begin with, the two companies will link JDA Category Knowledge Base, part of the JDA Category Management portfolio, with InContext’s ShopperMX VR SaaS platform. This will facilitate immersive visualization, collaboration, and testing of category strategies. Over the long term, the alliance will facilitate more agile analytics, design, and deployment of complete store shopper experiences for brick-and-mortar retailers, thus further streamlining the supply chain and store operations.
