Our first stop in Croatia was the capital city of Zagreb. Its a charming pretty city filled with parks and fountains. On my first day in the city I wandered through the botanical gardens, and quickly became obsessed with the almost black, dark purple tulips that were planted all over the city.
On our second day we took a walking tour of the city to learn more about its history. Most of the buildings are in the Austro-Hungarian architecture style, but remnants of the cities old walls and churches remain in the city as well. We walked through the main town square, took a funicular to a viewing point above the city, and strolled through the local markets where we indulged in pastries and fresh strawberries!
