When I saw the “Create” collection from Krista, I knew that I had to use it for these photos of my girl. One of my favorite digital techniques is changing the colors of products to match my photos (blog post from me coming about this next month) and believe it or not, I did not have to do that for this spread at all! The colors matched my daughter and the funky hat she modeled perfectly. So, my tip for this month is to look through your unscrapped photos and group a set together, then go seeking a collection that matches your photos. Krista has so many amazing collections and is absolutely amazing at picking color schemes.
I also find that using a neutral as your main color, helps a spread not to feel too colorful if that makes sense. My neutral of choice is always white. It gives such a clean, classic look to your spreads and helps them not feel cluttered. On this spread, I also used the “3×4 Photo Templates“. I used one of them on the right side for my big photo and just enlarged it to fill most of my 9×12 spread. I would not recommend enlarging something that is a 3×4 to an 8×10 usually, as the quality will go down, but for a template, it works just fine.
I then used the same templates on my pocket photos on the right hand side. Instead of filling in the “text” area with more journaling, I printed and cut out some elements from the collection. I love the pops of color that these words add to my story.
I hope that you all will take a moment to look for a collection of photos and pair them with a collection from the shop to create something fun. Please let me know if you have any questions.
