Toshiba Announce Eclipse-Based IDE
Toshiba have announced an Eclipse-based IDE that supports developing embedded systems built around Toshiba’s TX09 ARM9 and TX03 ARM Cortex 32-bit microcontrollers. TrueSTUDIO/TX V2.0 is available in Professional and a free Lite edition. It supports parallel compilation and multiprocessor debug; and incorporates UML-based features for speeding development through graphical modelling. It comes with integrated features for code and source code review meetings, and a context-aware task management system for tracking bugs, to-do items and other issues. Third Milestone for Virgo 3.0
The third milestone of Virgo 3.0 has been released. For this release, the shell has been improved to better handle the new Region implementation, and the Virgo Web Server has been renamed to Virgo Tomcat Server. More information on the changes is available at the Release Notes.
Groovy 1.7.10 and 1.8 RC3 Released
Two new release of Groovy are now available: Groovy 1.7.10 and 1.8 RC3. Due to a problem during the release process, not all of the announced fixes were bundled as part of the 1.7.9 release. These are now incorporated into the Groovy 1.7.10 release. Meanwhile, the third RC for Groovy 1.8 fixes a potential synchronisation issue that could have affected ExpandoMetaClasses users, and adds support for overriding package-, doc- or class-templates in Groovydoc descendant classes.
GroovyServ 0.6 Released with Maven3.x Support
Version 0.6 of GroovyServ has been released. GroovyServ is a tool that attempts to accelerate Groovy and the JVM’s startup times by pre-invoking Groovy as a server. In this release, support for Maven3.x has been added, and running multiple instances of GroovyServ simultaneously on separate ports is supported. There is also a list of bug fixes.
New Gradle Google App Engine Plugin
A Gradle Google App Engine plugin has been released on GitHub. This plugin provides tasks for the uploading, running and management of Google App Engine Java projects. Users can also configure the WAR plugin to be used with a Gaelyk project. More information on this, is available at the project’s GitHub.
Arquillian 1.0.0.Alpha5 Rewrites Core
Arquillian 1.0.0.Alpha5 has been announced, with rewrites to parts of the old Arquillian core. This release adds functionality for deploying multiple times to multiple containers in the same test class, and descriptor deployment, which defines a deployment method with return type Descriptor. This alpha comes with a new extension for Web testing that integrates Arquillian with Selenium, WebDriver and Arquillian Ajocado.
