We’re currently in a bit of an unusual period in gaming at the moment, with very few major releases in the relatively near future to get overly hyped about. Well, except possibly Resident Evil Village, which I am undoubtedly looking forward to checking out. However, of the few games that are eagerly anticipated, Elden Ring undoubtedly represents one of the biggest. Unfortunately, however, if you were hoping that this would be landing before the end of this year, then we have some bad news for you.
Elden Ring Gets Delayed Again!
Following the release of the companies latest earning reports, it has been confirmed that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, development on the game has taken significantly longer than they anticipated. Although no exact release date has been cited, the information clearly suggests that its earliest arrival will be around March/April 2022. And to reiterate that point, this is the earliest date meaning that it might not actually be released until much later in the year.
What Do We Think?
In all honesty, the news isn’t overly surprising. When you consider that very little has yet been revealed about the game (and not even an official teaser trailer), it does feel that this is clearly still a fair ways away from being completed. Given that FromSoftware is supposedly ‘finished’ with the Dark Souls franchise, however, even though Elden Ring has been pushed back (again), I daresay that more than a few people are still eying this up with more than a little casual curiosity!
