13-Year-Old Swims to Raise Funds for Black Rhino Conservation
13-year-old Jaime has been competing in the Cape Coastal Grand Prix Swim Series and using her swims to raise funds for Black Rhino conservation.
South Africa (01 July 2022) – Talented swimmer Jaime, has a love for swimming and competing in competitions; however, she has a passion for wildlife conservation too. Jaime decided to merge her two favourite things and swim to raise money to support Black Rhino conservation in South Africa.
Jaime is currently ranked among the top swimmers in the country. She is brilliantly competitive and competes with herself most of all; always trying to swim her own personal best time.
It is her personal competitiveness that inspired her to start raising funds for Black Rhino. She hoped that by swimming her best and taking seconds off her current time, that people could donate toward every second she is able to swim off her current personal best.
“For me swimming is a real passion and despite only being 13, I have ranked 1st in 4 events in the SA Swimming Rankings which came out on the 20th June 2022.”
“I want my Personal Best (PB’s) swimming times to matter for a greater purpose. For every second that I take off my swimming times (during the following swimming competitions ) will make a difference in the lives of those supporting and protecting our Rhino’s.”
Jaime has been able to raise R12,750.00 so far. A great achievement towards her goal of R25,000.00. She has one more competition to swim in for The Cape Coastal Grand Prix Swim Series this weekend.
If you would like to support Jaime, you can do so here. The funds raised will be going towards anti-poaching units and community education programmes.
