Handmade Sloth Gift Tag
Hello, all! Julie here with a tutorial from Allison Arbour. She's showing us how she made this adorable handmade gift tag using alcohol markers. Allison used both the Sloane and Slater the Sloths stamps and dies and the Hello Hollyhocks stamps and dies on her project. I would never have imagined using this stamp sets together but it works really well for such a unique combination. I hope you enjoy seeing Allison's stamped sloth gift tag and her tutorial!
I started by die cutting two of the large essential labels die. On one of the labels I used the die to cut the opening to slide the ribbon through.
I stamped on a piece of white cardstock using Memento Black ink both Sloan the sloth and the hollyhock image. Using copic markers I coloured the images. For Sloane I used E37,E35,E33,E31,E50, the Hollyhock used YR14,Y23,YR30, and the leaves are YG17,YG03
I used the corresponding dies to cut out the images. Then I stamped the bee image using memento black ink on the tag and coloured it with copic markers. I used the sentiment “you’re totally sloth-some” from the Sloane and Slater the Sloths Stamp Set. I stamped it with Versafine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
The hollyhock was then positioned around the tag and the excess trimmed off. I used foam tape on the back of the hollyhock to add dimension. Sloane was positioned with foam tape and attached to the tag as well.
And finally, I fed the ribbon through the single hole die cut. I added liquid glue to the back of the plain tag and attached the two tags together. Once glued together I applied glue to the back of the die cut loop and pressed into the opening.
This is such a cute and unusual stamped sloth gift tag! What kind of gift would you put this on? A thank you present? A hostess gift? Or a birthday package?
P.S. If you're a member of the Animal House auto-ship program, you received Sloane and Slater the Sloths with your shipment in July. And if you're a member of the Greenhouse Society auto-ship program, the Hello Hollyhocks stamps and dies arrived in July as well.
If you're not a member of either or both of these great programs, not to worry! You can order the stamps and dies now. You could also look into becoming an auto-ship program member and what kinds of great benefits they offer.
