2022 Masters Betting in Canada | Odds, Tips For Canadian Players At Augusta National
The day Ontario sports fans and bettors had long been waiting for finally came earlier this week, as the province’s commercial single-game sports betting market went live with multiple notable sportsbook brands to choose from.
Sure, we all want to be betting on the Canadian Football League. But until June 9, we have to stay entertained in some other ways, and it’s the perfect time of year to get into some other sports.
It just so happens that Thursday begins the biggest golf event of year, the 86th edition of The Masters Tournament, at its legendary home of Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
While a major golf event would already normally draw plenty of attention, The Masters should see increased interest in Canada now that the volume of sportsbooks and betting options has been multiplied.
There is also a trio of Canadians participating including Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, and past champion Mike Weir. Below, we’re offering Masters futures odds and previews for Canadians in the field in case you want to start your Ontario sports betting journey by betting on one of your countrymen at Augusta.
2022 Masters betting odds for Canadians in the field
At the top of the odds board are familiar names to golf fans such as Jon Rahm (Spain), Justin Thomas (USA), Dustin Johnson (USA), Cameron Smith (Australia), and Scottie Scheffler (USA). But once you move a bit down the board, you’ll find the guys we are looking for at some pretty healthy odds at most Canada sportsbooks.
Conners, Hughes, and Weir all profile as longshots to varying degrees when it comes to winning the tournament, but the potential payouts are pretty enticing (all odds are subject to change):
Corey Conners (+5500 or 56): Conners is Canada’s top-ranked golfer at No. 32 in the world rankings and has two top 10s to go with two top 20s in his last five major starts.
Conners is making his fifth Masters appearance if you count him playing this event as an amateur. His 2019 Masters pro debut featured a 46th-place finish, but he’s bounced back to produce consecutive top 10 finishes the last two years including 8th place in 2021.
Do some line shopping with Conners, as his number ranges from +4000 to +5500 depending on which of the Ontario sportsbooks you are using. If willing to accept lesser odds, finishing position or matchup markets could be a great fit for Conners.
Mackenzie Hughes (+35000 or 351): Hughes comes into what is his third Masters appearance with plenty of steam – he generated a trio of career-best finishes in major championships last year. He was notably tied for the 54-hole lead at the U.S. Open before finishing in T15 and notched his first top 10 finish in a major last July at the 2021 Open Championship (T6).
This is only Hughes’ third time playing The Masters but he did have a career-best finish (40th) last year. Knowing how much experience can matter around this course, Hughes was undoubtedly in Mike Weir’s ear for tips on how to get around Augusta. If looking for a more realistic payout, consider Hughes at +600 to finish in the top 20.
Mike Weir (+150000 or 1501): Weir forever endeared himself to Canadian sports fans by winning the 2003 Masters and remains the only Canadian to ever win a golf major. Much more recently, the 51-year-old does have a dozen top-10 finishes on the senior circuit but also has some of the longest odds in the tournament.
We probably wouldn’t invest in Weir but if there’s one place to take your shot, maybe it’s just to make the cut (+350 or 4.50) or even in the market below if you’re unsure how the other two Canadians perform.

In addition to outright winner, finishing position, and individual matchups, you can also bet on nationality props at plenty of the new betting sites in Ontario. That includes top Canadian, which is offered at Caesars Sportsbook.
There’s no doubt that this is Conners’ category to lose and at -200, there isn’t a whole lot of value. The best combination of value comes from Hughes, who is at least capable of giving Conners a run for his money in this market. Hughes pays out more than double at +220, but head over to Caesars to see if any of these players are covered in one of their many odds boosts!
