40 Under 40: Shannon Ellsworth
Provo City Council • Councilmember • Provo • Age 31
Shannon Ellsworth knows the lay of the land. In 2019 she was elected to the Provo City Council as the youngest-ever member (!!) and sole female. She has a degree in environmental planning and landscape architecture from USU and earned her MBA at BYU. Ellsworth then spent her career working on environmental policy and helping local governments plan for the future, as well as serving on multiple boards, commissions, and non-profits. Did we mention she also has a day job? She works at Sunrise Engineering in Springville as a Community Development Manager. Progress is what happens when Ellsworth is busy making plans.
