2020 and Proverbs 16:9
I think at this point everyone can agree that 2020 is a crazy year (and that’s saying much since there’s so many things people disagree on).
Certainly I imagine some people thought in the end of 2019: “Whew! I can’t wait for a new year, a new beginning!”
I imagine for many of us this is a curve ball.
It reminds me of Proverbs 16:9= “The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”
We get two truths from that verse.
First, man might plan but no plan survive intact upon the first encounter with reality. Still it is good to still try to plan. But know it might not happen exactly as you had written down on paper.
Secondly, the Lord is still in control. He guides the steps of man. Sometimes we wonder what is our calling, purpose, etc. Sometimes to make it easier we should see what is our responsibilities biblically and focus on living that out. Sometimes I do think we look back and see what was our calling all along. Yet this verse also comforts us that His purpose will stand as the world is going crazy.
