RE: Resources for Architectural Tours?

Good morning Adrienne!

It’s a pleasure to meet you! My name is Alison Heney and I’m the Director of Education for the Long Beach Museum of Art in southern California. In response to your question, we actually launched a pilot program called “Walk/Talk/See” just this past summer about understanding community by observing different cultures, neighborhoods and architecture throughout our city. I’ve attached slides of some of our prompts (geared toward the city of Long Beach and our new Downtown location). Feel free to email me or give me a ring if you’d like to discuss! (562) 439—2119 Ex. 255

Warm regards,

Alison

My colleagues and I are working on a new series of guided public tours that will interpret exhibitions at Oklahoma Contemporary as well as the new building itself. If anyone else has written a dialogue or activity-focused tour on architecture, we would greatly appreciate your advice, links or files. We're especially interested in an emphasis on helping novice audiences "read" architecture.

Thanks,

Adrienne
