5 Days of Newness: A Conceptual Hybrid Space by Viviers Studio Which Combines & Highlights Art, Fashion, Community & Collaboration
In August, sustainable luxury clothing brand VIVIERS, in collaboration with Krone MCC, hosted the official launch of ‘5 Days of Newness – a luxury experience curated by artists, artisans, galleries, and makers.
‘5 Days of Newness’ centres around the desire for bespoke experiences which encourage contemplative interaction with people, with art & garments. A one-stop merchant, created by Louw Kotzé and Lezanne Viviers, which highlights the intersectionality of art, fashion, community & collaboration.
This by-appointment shopping space is an amalgamation of carefully selected pieces; art, clothing, animatic objects and locally produced products set in a beautiful location that aids in the overall visual encounter.
The home-like environment is what fosters a sense of intimacy and contemplation. It is a one-of-a-kind, multi-sensory experience that aims to serve a stark contrast to our contemporary modes of instant gratification and compulsive consumerism. This rather inspires meaningful interactions between clients, artists, artisans and their art.
It is an opportunity for the brand’s clients to carefully select and acquire investment pieces through conversations with their makers. It’s the future of meaningful luxury retail. Consumerism is replaced with interaction. Being slow is not being static but to prioritise the process over the destination. The story, the artist, and space increases the sentimental value of any piece someone will purchase.
