Purple Onion Designs A Snowy Day with Bianca & Neve
It’s Black Friday! Ahhh! Are you going out shopping today? I probably won’t be, but it’s only because I’ve already burned a hole in my wallet from a lot of pre-Black Friday online shopping. I can’t wait until all my packages arrive. If you’re still shopping, I have one to share with you from Purple Onion Designs that starts today!
Purple Onion Designs carry a huge line of rubber stamps with illustrator Stacey Yaccula, whom I am a HUGE fan of. I adore her work and her newest winter collection called Pine Cone Trail is a must-have! I immediately purchased it when it released and couldn’t wait to share with you my first of many cards that I made with it.
One of my favorite things about these stamp collections is the background stamps. They are so beautifully illustrated, fun to color, and easily build gorgeous scenes! If you ever browse through the POD’s design team, you’ll see all the incredible samples they make with these scene building stamps. For my card, I used the Winter Trail Background stamp, and colored it all in with copic markers. Once that was done, I splattered it with white paint to imitate snow.
I framed the scene with some A2 nesting dies. I die cut the window out of kraft card stock, and die cut the frame out of two A2 nesting dies, one slightly larger than the other, to add a thin white frame in this window opening. I wanted to create a frosty look, so I ink blended white pigment ink onto the kraft card stock with Frosty Flakes Stencil. Again, I added white paint splatter for more snow.
The focal point of my scene is this adorable snowman Bianca and its sweet little bird friend Neve. I stamped this image in the same dark brown ink, colored them with copic markers, and fussy cut the image out. The sentiment used here is from Holiday Blurbs II. I added him and his message to the scene with foam tape. Aren’t they just darling?
Making sweet scenes like this reminds me how much I love to make cards! Hope you enjoy this little bit of holiday inspiration and I just can’t wait to share more cards I’ve made from this collection soon!
