I’m a huge fan of the magic of holidays and the family time that it creates. While celebrating the resurrection of Christ, I also enjoy spending time with my family and truly celebrating the season together. I’ve found that there are some wonderful ways to tie all of it together, and I’ve shared some of my favorite Easter Bunny Magic tips and tricks in my post about creative ideas for Easter.

Celebrate the Little Things

Ever since my kids were little, I’ve enjoyed stretching out the holiday seasons by decorating the house, selection holiday themed story books and creating holiday themed meals and celebrations. As my kids get older, I still do these things, I just modify them to fit their age and interest. For example, now that my kids are older, we have night time glow in the dark Easter egg hunts and guess what the eggs are filled with? Dollar bills, coins and candy. My kids also enjoy putting on Easter egg hunts for the younger kids in our extended family and it’s a great excuse to get together and continue the fun festivities of these holidays.

After all, it’s really about being together and these holiday celebrations make my mama heart so happy. Finding ways and excuses to gather doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. Sometimes it is as simple as a fun Easter themed coloring book, puzzle or even a visit to the library to check out Easter themed books. In the weeks leading up to holidays, I always loved reading relevant books at bedtime. It builds the excitement and anticipation for them. Actually, it builds it for me too! Life is short, celebrate the little things.
