Aldi is selling a HUGE 28oz ‘Godfather’ steak

ALDI is launching a huge 28oz steak this week, just in time to treat your dad on Father’s Day.

The supermarket’s Godfather British Rump Steak will be available in stores from June 17 for £7.99 ahead of Father’s Day on June 20.

The bargain cut will rival the Bigger Daddy Steak, which was popular when it launched last year.

It is one of the best deals for a huge slab of meat available at a major UK supermarket. For example, Tesco is selling 18oz of rump steak for £9

Asda’s rump steak comes in at £4.47 for 255g – or 9oz. The supermarket has a two for £8 deal on, bringing it to 18oz for £8.

At Sainsbury’s, the 21 Day Matured Rump Steak is £2.32 for 225g and it is part of the supermarket’s Aldi Price Match promise.

To get as much meat as Aldi’s Godfather Steak you would have to round 3.5 packs up to four packs – costing you £9.28.

Meanwhile, Morrisons is charging £4 for an 8oz rump steak.

You can complete your meal with Aldi’s selection of sides, including chunky oven chips for £1.99 and beer battered onion rings for £1.49, which will also be available in store.

The supermarket has launched a range of other Father’s Day specials, including a 1kg Tomahawk steak for £13,49, new Wagyu topside beef slices – £2.49 for 80g – and giant cookie kit.

The huge cookie is available now – and at £1.69 is £18.30 cheaper than popular high street chain Millie’s Cookies, helping you to save some serious dough.
