AltRider Universal Highway Pegs—Designed with the Adventure Rider in Mind
Many touring motorcycles come with highway pegs for resting legs and feet during long-distance rides. But few ADV or dual-sport bikes do. That’s an add-on for almost all bikes in this genre.
The problem with highway pegs on bikes that go off-pavement is they can stick out too far, creating an obstacle when trying to fit through narrow trail features. I’ve used various versions in the past on my GS, but they either break too easily on impact, even when they’re folded away, or the clamps allow too much movement and slide around on my crash bars.
Some adaptations have been made in the past to fit pegs onto ADV bikes, but few come close to the hard-wearing, adaptable Universal Highway Pegs from AltRider. These pegs come with fasteners that clamp firmly around the crash bar.
Because AltRider wanted their pegs to fit on a variety of crash bars, they constructed the design with adaptable angles in mind. This was effected by creating four positions drilled into the stainless steal clamp, and six positions into the clevis, thereby allowing a combination of 24 positions to choose from, regardless of crash bar positioning. AltRider engineers also spent considerable time working on the detent, incorporating two springs to provide secure snapping between positions.
