Back To Work

With Thanksgiving out of the way it was time to get back to work yesterday, if for no other reason than to work off the tryptophan from all that Thanksgiving turkey. My Mom used to always say that’s what made you tired after you got done eating on Thanksgiving, although some experts would disagree.

I don’t know about all the chemical aspects of things, but I think the reason all the women are tired is that they busted their butts for days getting all that food ready to eat, then spent hours cleaning up afterward. As for us guys, let’s face it, we’ll use any excuse for a nap.

At any rate, I spent most of the day at my desk yesterday, and by the time Terry told me dinner was almost ready I had another 7,500 or so words done in my new book. But wouldn’t you know it? Those darn characters threw me a curveball and took things off in a completely different direction than where I saw the story going. As one of my author friends said a while back, we don’t really tell the stories. We just watch what our characters are doing, and when it is all out over, we write the incident report.

Speaking of stories, last night we finished binge watching the first three seasons of Yellowstone on Peacock. And boy, what an ending it was for season three! Right now, they are streaming the whole series on Paramount for free, and we can also watch what there is of season 4 so far with On Demand to catch up. And we definitely will be!
