Duo found asleep and impaired in a running car at Mapco
22-year-old King Orozco was charged with DUI per se and 21-year-old Joanna Lombera was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, and a DUI when they were caught asleep in a running car at Mapco.
On October 14th, Metro Nashville Police responded to a call made by a Mapco employee regarding a car that had been parked at the Mapco located at 2101 Murfreesboro Pike for two hours. Upon arrival, officers discovered Joanna Lombera asleep in the driver’s seat and King Orozco asleep in the passenger seat while the vehicle was running.

When officers were finally able to wake the women, they noticed there was an obvious odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Lombera was observed to have red glassy eyes and slurred speech. She also admitted to smoking marijuana before driving and proceeded to park at Mapco. Lombera agreed to a field sobriety test and performed poorly on all tasks. She was taken into custody and consented to a blood test. During a search of Lombera’s purse, officers discovered a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale. When officers spoke with Orozco, she stated the vehicle belonged to her and she had prior knowledge of Lombera being impaired before driving.
22-year-old King Orozco was arrested and charged with DUI per se. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
21-year-old Joanna Lombera was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and driving under the influence. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
