Future Spec: Edge of Spiderverse again?

Welcome to another year and another Spider event. It seems like every other year we either get a Spider or Venom event with Marvel. Marvel has been milking Spiderman for years with peak abuse in the 90s, but now Marvel abuses and uses all their Spider Characters. This latest iteration doesn’t even look like it will use Peter or Miles. Peter was the star of the first version and we were introduced and reintroduced to alternate Spider characters.

Spiderverse was Miles’s show with new and old characters making appearances. SpiderGwen who debuted in the first edge of Spiderverse had her own mini-series, Gwenverse. So let’s look at the latest Edge of Spiderverse.

Wrap Up

Starting on August 3rd and coming out every two weeks after you can get the Edge of Spiderverse Story. Each issue has a story featuring a known Spider character and an introduction to a new character. Some of the new characters seem to be novelty characters that will only appear in a Spiderverse story. Already people are pretty high on the design for Night Spider. Stores will line up to do exclusives because Spider covers sell, might not increase but look at how many Spidergwen exclusives were done and they all retained their value., might not increase.

I am a spiderman fan and always buy Spiderman-themed books, but I regret not going heavy on Spiderverse. I will probably buy a little heavy into all the books. All these books will have at least a 1:25 incentive, but probably a design variant too. Remember to keep track of the number of store exclusives, because an exclusive order means 3000 books with an opportunity for that store to have 120 1:25 incentives. There has been at least 1 store exclusive announced already, the annoying thing is the exclusive looks to be Night Spider, but she is supposed to appear in issue 3. Stores are trying to sell books so why not get the first cover appearance on a book the character doesn’t appear in.
