So, pick out your preferred wine to give away and gather up your sewing supplies from the list below. You’ll only need a couple of yards of fabric and some basic sewing supplies. I always recommend a rotary cutter for fast, clean cuts. Let’s get started!

The first step in this how to sew a wine bottle gift bag sewing tutorial is to get out the wine you intend to give away. Measure your wine bottle from bottom to neck then measure from neck to top. We will use these measurements to cut out our fabric.

In between this space mark it to be the area to make the openings for the twill ribbon. Take your measurements and add 1 inch. Cut the entire length of the measurements added together. Cut two pieces for the inside and two pieces for the outside of the bag.

Sew the bottom and up the sides to where it is marked for where we will put the twill ribbon through to tie our gift bag shut. Do not sew these sides on both the inside pieces and the outside pieces.

Then continue to sew the top.

Now, flip the outside fabric to right side out. Have the inside of the bag wrong side out. Slip the wrong side into the outside fabric. Press flat.

Instructions
