Isle of Wight – Aimee + Tim
Do days come any better than this? I honestly don’t think so. Aside from the absolutely incredible weather that we were blessed with for this little slice of Isle of Wight wedding photography – Aimee + Tim created a day that will live long in the memories of everyone there, and most certainly with me. One very special day for one very special couple.
The Isle of Wight has roots for me as it’s where my in-laws with, so I had a ready-made base for this wedding as we travelled over the evening before. It was just a 15 minute drive over to Binstead in the morning for the wedding and from the moment I arrived it was obvious today would be immense. The warmest of welcomes from Amy and her folks (huge thanks to Peter and Sue for opening their beautiful home up). Aimee and her bridesmaid Hayley were deep in prep and laughter echoed through every corner. Ace caterers Red Herring had been chosen for the day (great to see Steve and Yvette again just a few weeks since the last time and an unexpected pleasure).
The church, and what a beautiful church it is, was just a short walk down towards the coast and I should offer massive thanks here to Veronica for allowing me total freedom (the clergy are loving the silence of my new Sony A9 cameras) and for just reminding me how lovely it can be to work with a vicar who understands what we’re trying to do for each couple. I don’t think the light could have been any more perfect today and the angles in the church were so good to work with. After all of the confetti outside the three of us hacked it down to Fishbourne for some shots on the coast before heading back home for the rest of the day. Late afternoon Autumn sun filled the lawns as the day folded into the evening and we were treated to some superb speeches from Peter, Tim and the Best Man, Simon.
Days like this. It’s what this job gives me and I am eternally grateful for that and for it bringing people like Aimee and Tim into my life. From the moment we skyped earlier this year I liked them, and I left with that feeling amplified. Aimee has all of the poise you’d expect from a Pilates teacher, and a smile that can light an island. Tim brings a refined grace to the table, and some damn fine wine as he’s a director of a wine merchant. Both grew up on the Isle of Wight but now live on the mainland and are busy restoring what sounds like a beautiful home together. They have it all to look forward to, and a life of dreams beckons.
I hope they fulfil them all. These are truly wonderful people with a warmth that draws you in. Aimee and Tim, thank you so much.
