Special Guest – Marjory Wildcraft
The Grow Network’s founder, Marjory Wildcraft, is featured in “Who’s Who in America” for her work in building deep community resilience, restoring heirloom genetics in gardens and livestock, and advancing the return to natural medicine across the nation. National Geographic featured Marjory as an expert in sustainable living, and she has hosted Mother Earth News’ online “Homesteading Summit.” Marjory also hosts the annual Home Grown Food and Home Medicine Summits, which reach hundreds of thousands of viewers every year.
She is best known for her DVD series Grow Your Own Groceries, which has over a half million copies in use by homesteaders, foodies, preppers, universities, and missionary organizations around the world.
Beloved for her humorous, non-judgmental, get ’er done style, Marjory raised two teenagers in Central Texas and currently splits her time between Paonia, CO, and Puerto Rico. When she’s not building an online network, being “Mom,” and tending her family’s food supply, Marjory loves playing, running, doing gymnastics, skateboarding, acquiring skills from the Paleolithic era (yes, she is part cavewoman!), and experimenting with anything and everything related to food production and sustainability.
Thanksgiving essentials are out of stock If you’re noticing empty shelves when shopping for Thanksgiving, you’re not alone. In the week ending November 7, retailers were running lower on stock of essential Thanksgiving items compared to the same time last year, according to IRI, a market research firm that tracks US retail sales. During that first week of November, whole bird frozen, fixed-weight turkeys were in stock at a rate of 64% on average across national retailers, IRI found. This time last year, that figure was around 86%. Availability of packaged pie was roughly 68% that week, compared to 78% in 2020. Liquid gravy, with an in-stock rate of 73%, is down about 12 percentage points compared to last year. Cranberry sauce, with 79% availability, is down from 89% in that same period. IRI uses point-of-sales data and e-commerce transactions to track weekly store stock rates. Retailers typically like to have around a 95% in-stock rate overall, noted Krishnakumar Davey, president of IRI’s strategic analytics practice. This year, stores aren’t anywhere close to that.
Rising food costs pounding shoppers’ wallets; ‘No choice’ but to increase prices: Goya CEO Goya CEO Bob Unanue told FOX Business he had “no choice,” but to increase prices for goods as manufacturers and shoppers have been feeling the pinch of the rising cost of food due to supply chain disruptions, labor shortages and inflation. Unanue stressed that inflation “touches everybody.” “Costs are going up. Inflation is here to stay at least for a good while and everybody has these costs,” he added. Unanue noted that prices for some Goya products shot up about 10% so far to account for higher input costs and warned that prices could continue to rise unless the problems ease. At supermarkets across the country, some shoppers are feeling sticker shock as food prices continue to soar. Renita Gary of New Jersey said she’s been noticing higher prices on grocery store shelves and has changed her shopping habits. “I cut a lot of things out,” she said. “I don’t even buy clothes like I used to.” On Wednesday it was revealed that the consumer price index climbed 6.2% year over year in October, according to the Labor Department. The increase marked the largest annual gain since November 1990. Food price jumped .9% last month, which was the same increase as September, according to the Labor Department. The index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs continued to soar, increasing 1.7% in October following a 2.2% increase the month before.
Cargill CEO Says Global Food Prices to Stay High on Labor Crunch Food prices will likely stay elevated in 2022 as disruptions to the global supply chain are set to persist, according to the head of Cargill Inc., who highlighted labor shortages as one of the biggest risks facing the industry. Whether it’s meat processors, truckers, warehouse operators or port staff, the global food system is seeing more competition for workers. Plants are not running at full capacity, constraining food supplies and creating the potential for further price gains, said David MacLennan, chief executive officer of the agriculture powerhouse. “I thought inflation in ags and food was transitory. I feel less so now because of continued shortages in labor markets,” MacLennan said in an interview at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore. “That’s one of the inputs to the supply chain that we’re watching most carefully.” World food prices climbed to a decade high in October, threatening even higher grocery bills for households and potentially worsening global hunger. Whether it’s fruit pickers, meat processors, warehouse operators or port workers, the global food ecosystem is stressed due to a lack of staff. Bad weather hit harvests this year, freight costs soared and labor shortages have roiled the food supply chain. Add to that an energy crisis that’s caused a dramatic surge in fertilizer bills for farmers all around the world.
Supply chain issues impacting some Oregon Food Banks Some food banks in Oregon are feeling the effects of the nationwide supply chain issues. The Oregon Food Bank Warehouse in northeast Portland serves the entire state. There, typically donations comes from restaurants, farmers and other food manufacturers but because of supply chain issues and labor shortages, fewer food donations are coming in. “We are usually donated what is excess and right now with shortages there is not much excess so donations are really down,” Susanna Morgan, the CEO at Oregon Food Bank, said. The Oregon Food Bank served 860,000 people in 2019 and that number jumped up to 1.7 million in 2020. Morgan said they’re trying to fill the gap in other ways. “We are really lucky in that the community has been extremely generous to us in this pandemic time so we are able to fill those gaps either by purchasing food or by purchasing gift cards that we can give directly to families experiencing hunger to go purchase food for themselves,” she said. The federal government is also helping. “They are purchasing food that goes into a USDA commodity stream which shows up here in truckloads of food for our families,” Morgan said.
Farm-to-Table food donations helping Missoula Food Bank Food banks are much needed during the holidays to help families make ends meet. Most of the food can be donated from all over the country, but the Missoula Food Bank and local growers are emphasizing the importance of farm-to-table food donations. “As we go into the holiday season it gets busier and busier. The number of households and families that need our services from now to the end of the year is very very high,” explained Missoula Food Bank Director of Development and Advocacy Jessica Allred. “We serve as the stopgap. We are the safety net for families in need of food emergency services.” “At the end of the month, we see more than a thousand families in need. Throughout the month we provide about 10,000 services,” Allred said. During the holidays’ places like the Missoula Food Bank are needed the most. “We care about having an ample amount of food on our shelves and in our show but we also care about the nutritional content of the food that we are able to offer,” noted food bank Director of Operations Kelli Hess.
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
Watch: Jedediah Bila Shut Down on ABC for Being Unvaccinated: ‘You’ve Been at Fox TV Too Long’ Former co-host Jedediah Bila was shut down Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” after saying she was not vaccinated. Co-host Joy Behar said, “Let’s address the elephant in the room because you were supposed to join us in the studio weeks ago, but you couldn’t because ABC has a very strict policy. You can’t get into this building unless you’re fully vaccinated. Everybody in this room knows that and is vaccinated, but you made a conscious decision not to get the vaccine. Now the CDC says a person is ten times less likely to be hospitalized from COVID and 11 times less likely to die if they’ve gotten the vaccine, okay? So why didn’t you get it?” Bila said, “I want to let people know why I’m not there. I have a medical exemption to the vaccine that’s been written by my vaccinated specialist in New York City that’s been co-signed by three other doctors. I’m not a candidate for this vaccine. I also have sky-high multi-tear, multifaceted natural immunity, very, very high that has also been proven. It has been shown, and it is substantiated by letters from these doctors. For me personally, this vaccine poses a greater risk than benefit. I’m also not a risk to any of you. There has been a lot of debate about any of, that but I have doctors who have gone on record about that as well. My point about all of this is I am not anti-vax. What I really want is for people to make these decisions for themselves. I want every one of you to sit with your family members, to sit with your trusted doctors, and to say, what is the best decision for me? However, I do oppose mandates. I oppose them on the fact that, let’s look at the science. This is a vaccine that was created to prevent severity of disease and to prevent hospitalizations. Now we can have a whole debate on that in itself, but the vaccine does not prevent you from getting COVID. It does not prevent you from transmitting COVID.”
“Died suddenly” phrase trends on Google search as media outlets use the phrase to describe sudden deaths of vaccinated individuals The term “died suddenly” saw a spike in searches in recent months, a disconcerting trend that appears to show a rise in sudden deaths related to the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination efforts. It can be seen using Google’s news search and trends tool, which allows users to see the trending or popular web terms and searches. By typing “died suddenly,” the search engine brings up a lot of worrisome lists of people who have suddenly died of unexpected or unexplained causes, often attributed to pulmonary or coronary issues – both of which are side effects of the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. These sudden deaths are believed to be correlated to the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines and mandates. A YouTube video producer also compiled data across several countries showing a sharp rise in deaths just as governments started rolling out the experimental vaccines. (Related: Death by vaccine – The greatest scandal of 21st century.) There are also data from several states and the federal government showing that death among fully vaccinated Americans rose sharply amidst a recent surge of infections, but experts say this is not unexpected as more of the population become immunized.
NHS panic as mortuaries fill with thousands of non-Covid deaths – urgent inquiry calls Figures from the Office for National Statistics suggest that over the last four months, England and Wales registered 20,823 more deaths than the five-year average in the past 18 weeks. Only 11,531 deaths involved Covid. It means that around 45 percent of recent deaths were related to other causes. Experts called for an urgent inquiry into whether the deaths were preventable. Professor Carl Heneghan, director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine at the University of Oxford, said: “I’m calling for an urgent investigation.” He continued: “If you look at where the excess is happening, it’s in conditions like ischemic heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver and diabetes, all of which are potentially reversible.” Worried that this is not just a natural occurrence, he said: “This goes beyond just looking at the raw numbers and death certificates. We need to go back and find if these deaths have any preventable causes.” With the NHS suffering huge patient backlogs, the professor told the Telegraph: “This could be the fallout from the lack of preventable care during the pandemic, and what happens downstream of that.”
The definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ is changing to three Covid-19 doses You may need up to three Covid-19 vaccine doses to be considered fully vaccinated. Waning vaccine immunity and rising infections due to the Delta variant has prompted wealthy nations to reconsider the definition of “fully vaccinated” — which usually means two Covid-19 jabs. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson admitted as much on Monday, saying boosters were vital to prevent pandemic restrictions from being reintroduced. “It’s very clear that getting three jabs — getting your booster — will become an important fact and it will make life easier for you in all sorts of ways,” he told a press conference. Other European nations are moving towards mandates on booster jabs. By December 15, anyone over the age of 65 will need a third dose to revalidate their vaccination pass in France, President Emmanuel Macron announced last week. In Austria, full vaccination status expires after nine months of the second dose, which in effect enforces booster doses. In Israel, unless you received your second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine within the last six months, you now need a third dose to become eligible for a green pass, which allows entry to gyms, restaurants and other venues.
Is the Government Getting Your COVID Test Results Before You Do? Why? Is it just my imagination or are COVID testing and contract-tracing protocols getting creepier and more intrusive by the hour? PJ Media was contacted on Monday by a family in Northern Virginia who said their child was tested for COVID-19 earlier in the day as part of pre-admission screening for a scheduled procedure. Thirty hours after the test, the parents still had not received test results from the hospital where the test was performed. But the parents, who wish to remain anonymous to protect their health information, have been contacted by bureaucrats from both the D.C. and Virginia health departments, who apparently get access to the test results before the patients/parents do. The child in question, who is two years old and has special needs, was tested at Children’s National Hospital in the District of Columbia. Six hours later, the mother received a cryptic text message from the Virginia Department of Health suggesting that the child, who is asymptomatic, had tested positive for COVID. “The Virginia Health Department of Health received information about your 11/15/21 COVID-19 test,” the message said. “Stay home and stay away from other people to stop COVID-19 spread.”
Over Half of U.S. Cosmetics Are Toxic, Study Says Women around the world have been using beauty products for generations. From foundations and blush to lipstick and mascara, these cosmetics have become a staple for the modern woman. But what if the very products designed to help you look and feel your best are actually killing you? That’s the takeaway from new research out of Notre Dame, which found that over half of all makeup sold in the U.S. and Canada contain high levels of dangerous toxins. One of these poisonous compounds has been associated with serious health conditions like cancer and reduced birth weight: They’re called perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. The researchers tested more than 230 commonly used cosmetics and found that 56% of foundations and eye products, 48% of lip products and 47% of mascaras contained fluorine — an indicator of PFAS. These so-called “forever chemicals” are commonly used in nonstick frying pans, rugs, and countless other consumer products. Some of the highest PFAS levels were found in waterproof mascara (82%) and long-lasting lipstick (62%), according to the study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology Letters. Twenty-nine products with higher fluorine concentrations were tested further and found to contain between four and thirteen specific PFAS chemicals, the study found. Surprisingly, only one item listed PFAS as an ingredient on the label.
Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: The Health Benefits of Pumpkin, Pumpkin Seeds, and Pumpkin Seed Oil Perhaps nothing is more synonymous with the fall season than pumpkins. Carved pumpkins, pumpkin pies, and pumpkin bread can be found in nearly every home, store, and farm stand. But did you know that pumpkins, their seeds, and their seed oil all provide massive health benefits? This amazing fruit (you read that correctly: pumpkins are a fruit!) is absolutely packed with nutrients and a great source of vitamins A, C, and E. Let’s take a look at the amazing health benefits of pumpkins, pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin seed oil. As indicated by their bright orange color, pumpkins contain beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A when consumed. Research has demonstrated that vitamin A plays an important role in promoting immune function. Vitamin C also contributes to immune activity facilitating immune cell activity and increasing white blood cells. Antioxidants help fight off disease-causing free radicals in the body by preventing damage to cells involved in the immune response. Fortunately, pumpkins contain high levels of vitamins A and C, which are both antioxidants.
