Next weekend’s matches

Right, time to box away the cold and the wet and the wind and the loss to Kerry last weekend and shift the focus instead to what’s on this coming weekend. There’s a raft of matches involving the county on then, including an All-Ireland final.

Chronological order makes most sense in listing these games so let’s start with Saturday. First up then are the women footballers. They’re up against All-Ireland champions Meath in the LGFA NFL Division One semi-final, a match that throws in at St Tiernach’s Park, Clones, at 3pm on Saturday. It’s being broadcast live on TG4 and tickets for the game are available for purchase here.

The men are, of course, in action up the road in Omagh a bit later on. Throw-in against Tyrone at Healy Park is 5.45pm, the match is being broadcast live on RTÉ2 and Maurice Deegan of Laois is the ref. Tickets for the match are available to purchase here.

That’s not the only Mayo/Tyrone game on Saturday because the counties are also set to meet in Division Four of the Camogie League that day. This one is fixed for Tooreen but I don’t, I’m afraid, have a throw-in time for it as yet.

Sticking with camogie gets us to the All-Ireland final Mayo are competing on this weekend. This is the All-Ireland Minor C Championship decider, which is against Wicklow on Sunday. I’ve neither a venue nor a time for this one but will post details here once confirmed. That’s the Mayo Minor team, by the way, in the photo at the top.

Shifting back to the men but staying with the small ball, the county’s hurlers take on Donegal on Sunday. This NHL Division 2B match takes place at James Stephens Park in Ballina where throw-in is 1pm. Tickets for the game are available to purchase here.

The best of luck to all the Mayo teams in action this coming weekend.
