Nottingham Forest linked star stuns rivals, £9m-rated man plunges club into big trouble
Nottingham Forest missed out on Millwall winger Jed Wallace last month but last night he put a smile on the faces of Reds supporters.
The Lions injected life into their late push for a play-off place with a 2-1 win over Derby at Pride Park.
With just two minutes on the clock, Wallace offered a timely reminder of his quality by stunning the stadium into silence - nothing new there!
Forest tried hard to land the 27-year-old during the January transfer window.
Millwall, however, stood firm on their £9 million valuation and now the Lions risk losing their main man for free in the summer.
With that in mind, the Reds were perhaps right not to pay over the odds for Wallace. They are expected to retain their interest and could return in the summer.
Last night, Wallace proved a constant menace for Derby and some statistics from Who Scored highlighted his brilliance.
He was awarded the star man by the football statistics experts.
The versatile forward made two key passes and was successful with 80% of his 35 passes throughout his 90 minutes on the pitch.
Wallace also showcases his willingness to get back and help the defence out.
He made two tackles and also completed two clearances, whilst two of his three shots at Ryan Allsop were on target.
Forest have to move for Wallace in the summer
What a signing the Millwall man would be for Forest!
He is a proven Championship performer and if the Reds do see their squad dismantled, he'd be a useful addition to kick off a busy summer.
Wallace produces the good week in and week out, with several Premier League clubs also vying for his services.

Having never played in the top-flight, that would prove an attractive proposition but he's got to consider his game time.
At Forest, he'd quickly become integral and that should play into his thinking in the summer.
Wallace stuck the boot into Derby's survival bid last night and he could be donning the Garibaldi next season.
