Toronto’s Culinary Names Shine Bright At Taste Canada Awards 2021
The Taste Canada Awards returned this year for its 24th edition with the theme of One Canada. One Kitchen. Authors from nine provinces were represented, with a shortlist that led to five entries per category.

The gold and silver winners were announced at the virtual ceremony on November 14, 2021. It brought together restaurateurs, farmers, writers and other industry professionals. This year also saw a new ambassador program that united home cooks, and authors from all over the country.
Toronto’s very own Nuit Regular, Lee Capatina and Eden Grinshpan were some of the many incredible culinary giants that secured wins. Chef Regular’s book, Kiin: Recipes and Stories from Northern Thailand was awarded the gold under the Regional/Cultural Cookbooks category.
Holistic nutritionist and chef Capatina’s book Eat Good Fat: Nourish Your Body with Over 100 Healthy, Fat-Fuelled Recipes, also secured a gold win under the Health and Special Diet Cookbooks category.
Television host and chef Grinshpan was awarded silver for her book, Eating Out Loud: Bold Middle Eastern Flavors for All Day, Every Day. Other Toronto names that went home with a win include Michael Hunter and Angela Liddon.
