According to The Times, Crystal Palace have renewed their interest in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

The young Englishman only has a few months left on his contract and it is pretty clear that he has no interest in extending his deal.

Mikel Arteta, who thinks he is ‘extraordinary‘ has tried to convince him to stay, but those attempts have proved unsuccessful. It really does look like he will be on his way out of the Emirates soon.

Crystal Palace want Nketiah

The report reveals that the Eagles, now managed by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, are keen to sign Nketiah.

It’s unclear whether that is a move in the coming days for a small fee or a summer transfer for free. The former would be the better option for Arsenal it would help us make some money off his sale, but it makes more sense for interested clubs to wait six more months.

Nketiah is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club as well, just like Aaron Ramsey did with Juventus a few years ago when he was at a similar stage of his contract.

The Insider’s View:

It’s clear that Nketiah wants to go, so let him leave.

Arsenal were right to try and extend Nketiah’s deal. He has the potential to become a top striker in the Premier League in the coming years, but is he ever going to be good enough to become our number one striker? It’s difficult to say yes.

The Gunners just have to move on now and it looks like we’re going big.

Arsenal look set to replace Nketiah with a younger and more well-rounded forward in Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian is one of the most feared strikers in Italy at the moment and if we can pull this deal off, it may just end up being Edu’s best bit of business as our technical director.
