The funding, led by Ascension Ventures, allows Cala Health — a StartUp Health portfolio company and a pioneer and leader of bioelectronic medicine — to expand patient access and fuel innovation into other indications.

We saw nearly $1.3B in health innovation funding reported this week, including $77M in new financing for Cala Health, which StartUp Health backed in 2019. The round was led by Ascension Ventures, with participation from Dolby Family Ventures, PEAK6 Strategic Capital, and Innovatus Capital Partners. <source>

SWORD Health, a Porto-based virtual provider of musculoskeletal care, raised $189M led by Sapphire Ventures with participation from new investors including Sozo Ventures and Willoughby Capital, as well as previous investors including General Catalyst and Khosla Ventures. <source>

Trusted, a San Francisco, CA-based job-matching service for nurses, announced $149M in new funding, including a $94M Series C led by Greenspring Associates, and a $77M Series B led by Craft Ventures and Felicis Ventures. <source>

EasyHealth, a Beverly Hills, CA-based startup focused on navigating the Medicare experience, raised $135M led by Anthemis Group and QED Investors, with participation from Victory Park Capital, Nationwide Ventures, Healthy Ventures, Brewer Lane, and Operator Partners. <source>

Luma Health, a San Francisco, CA-based platform unifying and automating the patient healthcare journey, raised $130M led by FTV Capital, a sector-focused growth equity investment firm, with participation from existing investors. <source>

Benchling, a cloud-based R&D platform developer headquartered in San Francisco, CA, raised $100M co-led by Franklin Templeton and Altimeter Capital, with participation from Tiger Global, Lone Pine Capital, Y Combinator, and others. <source>

InsurMedix, an AI-powered insurance platform, raised $65M led by A-Labs Advisory & Finance. <source>

ieso, a UK-based digital therapy company aiming to transform mental healthcare, raised $53M led by Morningside, alongside new investors including Sony Innovation Fund and further participation from existing shareholders, IP Group, Molten Ventures, and Ananda Impact Ventures. <source>

Aptihealth, a Boston, MA-based tech-driven behavioral health startup, raised $50M from Takeda Digital Ventures, Pivotal Life Sciences, Vista Credit Partners, Olive Tree Ventures, Claritas Capital, and What If Ventures. <source>

Synthace, a London, UK- and Cambridge, MA-based life sciences software company that automates biology experimentation and insight sharing in a global R&D environment, raised $35M co-led by Horizons Ventures and Sofinnova Partners. <source>

MedArrive, a New York, NY-based healthcare platform that enables payers and providers to extend medical services into the home, raised $25M led by Section 32, with participation from 7wireVentures, Leaps by Bayer, Define Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, and Redesign Health. <source>

PayZen, a San Francisco-based healthcare fintech startup, raised $15M led by SignalFire, with participation from new investors Link Ventures and 7WireVentures alongside existing investors Viola Ventures and Picus Capital. <source>

Sense Biodetection, an Oxford, UK- and Boston, MA-based developer of a portable, hand-held COVID test device, raised $15M from Koch Disruptive Technologies. <source>

Cognixion, a Santa Barbara, CA- and Toronto, ON-based startup designing an intuitive brain-monitoring headset and interface for people with physical disabilities, raised $12M led by Prime Movers Lab, with participation from Northwell Health, Amazon Alexa Fund, and Volta Circle. <source>

Charco Neurotech, a Cambridge, UK–based medtech company that develops solutions for people with Parkinson’s, raised $10M co-led by Amadeus Capital Partners and Parkwalk Advisors, with participation from University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC), MINT Venture Partners, Crista Galli Ventures, and others. <source>

Avodah, a Dallas, TX-based SaaS company powering human-centered integrated AI capabilities, raised $7M led by investors. <source>

LabMinds, an Oxford, UK, and Boston, MA-based life science startup helping scientists around the world automate their most ubiquitous processes in laboratories, raised $6.4M led by Waters Corporation and Red Deer Capital. <source>

LifeVoxel.AI, a San Diego-based medical platform for AI and visualization, raised $5M from medical and radiology specialists, strategic medical technology investors, and family offices. <source>

K&L Wellness Technology, a Mumbai-based health-tech company that aims to reset the rules for online media, raised 30 Crore (~$4M) from angel investors Vimal Kedia and Surendra Kedia of Manjushree Ventures and Narendra Firodia of Sohamm Group. <source>
