Team Conviva Spotlight: Women’s History Month Part 3

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are spotlighting some of the amazing women that work at Conviva all month long. This week, Tanya Valova, VP of Sales Operations, shares why she chose Conviva, tips on life, and more.

1.    What is one thing you wish more people knew about women in the workplace?

Women in the workplace are an asset of great value. Women are born problem-solvers and multitaskers and are resilient, self-aware, and bring a different perspective to the table. Inclusion and empowering women can have many positive effects across the entire organization and the overall success of the business.

2.    How do you balance career, personal life, and passions?

Work-Passion-Life balance, finding fulfillment, and maintaining the perfect proportions is a continuous process. I find that integrating my passions with my work and life out of work is a great way to feel fulfilled. It’s the quality of the time spent with family, friends, and colleagues, doing the things I love, and unplugging when I can—that makes a difference for me.

3.    What advice would you give your 25-year-old self?

Embrace change and challenges—it might be scary but it’s always exciting. Pushing the limits of our comfort zone is the best opportunity to learn and become better.

4.    How do you unwind after work?

About 15 years ago, I went on a horseback trail ride for the first time ever and I was absolutely mesmerized by the experience. It turned out that I had found a lifelong passion. Horseback riding or just spending time with our horses, Carlos, Siena, and Jazzy keeps me in the moment and allows me to instantly unplug.

5.    What was the best advice you ever received in life or in your career?

Be your unique self, always keep an eye on your own North Star. Authenticity is the key to inner balance. It allows us to be the best we can be and earns the respect and trust of others.

6.    What do you look forward to at work?

At Conviva we are fortunate to have such incredibly smart, passionate, and creative people that work as a team, and everyone is always willing to pitch in. Working in a fast-paced company with talented people who truly take pride in their job makes for an exceptional and inspiring work atmosphere.
