Two men bloody fight, action movie style, at Serangoon while bystanders watch — Netizens weigh in on who’s at fault
Singapore — As if taken straight out of an action movie, an incident at Serangoon involving two men engaged in a bloody fight has gone viral online.
A 10-second video posted by Facebook page Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road on Monday (Dec 6) has garnered mixed responses from netizens touching on the topic of public altercations, respect for others, among other issues.
The footage began with a man in a dark blue shirt with an already bloody face. He was standing in front of another man with a light blue shirt.
The man in the dark blue shirt was heard shouting at the guy before throwing a punch.
However, the man stumbles to the ground in the process.
Not skipping a beat, the man in the light blue shirt grabs onto the man’s arm while repeatedly punching his head, complete with short grunts or sharp kihap often heard after delivering a martial art move.
In response to the video, members from the online community weighed in on who was at fault.
A few noted that both men should be charged – the younger one for assault, while the older one for instigating a fight.
Meanwhile, others highlighted that the young man was at fault for failing to extend some respect to those older than him.
“What if he (the older man) dies from the injury?” asked a netizen while another added that the younger man took advantage of the situation after the older man fell down.
On the other end, netizens wondered why no one stepped in to stop the fight in the first place.
According to a Channel News Asia report, the two men aged 33 and 47 were arrested for affray.
The Singapore Police Force was alerted to the fight between two men at Block 254 Serangoon Central at about 12:30 pm on Sunday (Dec 5).
It remains unclear how the fight started and ended, as well as what caused it.
It was reported that the men weren’t taken to the hospital following the brawl.
Police investigations are ongoing. /TISG
