Watch It All About has become 12&60

To the dear readers of Watch It All About:

You may have noticed something pretty major around here: Watch It All About is no more. Herein lies a pretty candid admittance of how that came to be.

Turns out, you can indeed have too much of a good thing.

I’ve always loved watches, they embody my entire being; I feel inextricably linked to these tiny wonders. Nothing makes me more happy than chatting watches with fellow enthusiasts, writing about them, photographing and videoing them.

But, the past year has taken a heavy toll on me. I’ve been running WIAA for 9 years, all on my own. Of course, there’s been some excellent guest reviewers who I am incredibly grateful to who have supported me along the way. But as the site has become more and more popular, I’ve found myself finding it more and more difficult to keep on top it all.
I won’t lie. It’s been stressful. Dozens of brands get in touch every week, and I’m one of those kind of people who doesn’t like to let anyone down. However, there’s only so much I can do. I have a full time job, and a family, as well as other responsibilities. Having to maintain Watch It All About was getting rather a lot. In fact, at points in recent times, I’d say I’ve fallen out of love with watches, such is the negative connotations I’ve developed with them.

I considered selling the site. But this is my baby, something I’ve nurtured for nearly a decade; so I didn’t want to be apart from it. Neither did I want it to wither and die. It has a legacy and a decent following – and I knew that it could be taken to the next level.

Something had to be done, and I’m over the moon with the solution.

I’ve known James Mulvale for many years. His watch blog Watch That Sweep was an awesome up-and-coming review site, and then he moved to Watch Gecko to hone his skills and learn trade secrets. When I learnt that he was leaving to become a freelancer, I knew this was my shot; it was as if the stars aligned. Someone I knew, trusted, and got on well with. Would they be willing to help me out?

Thankfully, James was immediately open to the idea of a collaboration. We sounded out some technicalities, and settled on an agreement. Thus, 12&60 was born. We would both be Co-Founders, with the agreement working in favour of both parties. I would have someone share the workload and get the website to the next level; whilst James would get a great starting point and spring board to work from.

So, a new chapter has been opened. One that I am extremely excited about – and you should be too. You’ll notice much more coverage to the usual top-quality standard, covering a much wider array of categories.
Welcome to 12&60: Honest About Horology.

Thank you so very much for reading, and for being a follower of this blog and review site.
