Protests and Rage Against Lockdowns and Mandates All Over the World As deadlines loom for mandatory vaccines, and the more lockdowns come to many countries of the world, people have taken to the streets in protest. In the typical case, local media either neglects to report on this or improperly characterizes them as “right wing” or “anti-vaxx.” It is likely that most people who get their news only from mainstream TV or The New York Times know nothing about what is happening. The videos below, carefully chronicled by our friend Aaron Ginn, document what the media has neglected, even though this is the largest global protest movement to appear in decades. Keep in mind that this is only footage from select places from the last week. There are many more not appearing here and such protests have been building for more than a year. These videos indicate the arrival of a turning point. Governments can continue to press these lockdowns and mandates against all scientific evidence and good public health or they can listen to the pains and anger of their own people.
Vaccine Holdouts Face $4,000 Fine in Austria’s Virus Crackdown Austrians who refuse to get a coronavirus vaccines will face fines of up to 3,600 euros ($4,000) once mandatory inoculations kick in next year. The penalties are part of a dramatic move by the government to boost vaccination levels as it grapples with a surge in cases that’s forced the country back into lockdown. Authorities will first offer an appointment for people who haven’t taken a shot. Austria would be the first western European country to make coronavirus vaccinations compulsory. It’s stands out with one of the region’s lowest inoculation rates, at about 66% of the eligible population, and some of the hardest-hit regions in the latest wave of the virus. There will also be fines, of up to 1,500 euros, for refusal to take a booster shot, according to Minister for the Constitution Karoline Edtstadler. “The plan is not only for people to take the first shot but that they really make it to full immunization,” Edtstadler said on public broadcaster ORF.
Disney World puts COVID-19 vaccination policy on hold for employees Disney World near Orlando, Florida, operated by Walt Disney Co (DIS.N), has put its COVID-19 vaccination mandate on hold, a spokesperson said on Saturday. The move comes amid the Biden administration’s workplace COVID-19 vaccine rule, which requires businesses with at least 100 employees to require staff get vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested weekly and wear a face covering at work. Local TV station Fox 35 was first to report the news, citing a cast member at the resort complex. A Disney spokesperson had earlier told Reuters by email: “We believe that our approach to mandatory vaccines has been the right one as we have continued to focus on the safety and well-being of our Cast Members and Guests.” “At this point, more than 90% of active Florida-based Cast Members have already verified that they are fully vaccinated,” the spokesperson added. Executives of Walt Disney Co, along with United Parcel Service Inc (UPS.N) and others, met with White House officials last month to discuss President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement plan for private-sector workers, amid concerns it could worsen labor shortages and supply-chain woes.
CHD Files New Lawsuit to Stop D.C. Law Allowing 11-Year-Old Kids to Get Vaccines Without Parents’ Consent Children’s Health Defense (CDH) and Parental Rights Foundation on Monday refiled a lawsuit on behalf of four parents challenging the D.C. Minor Consent Act as unconstitutional. The D.C. Minor Consent Act allows children 11 or older to “consent” to vaccinations, including the Pfizer Bio-NTech COVID-19 vaccine, without their parents’ knowledge or consent. The law contains multiple provisions designed to deceive parents and conceal the fact that children have been vaccinated, including against the parents’ written religious exemption. The plaintiffs originally filed on July 12 in an attempt to stop the law from being enforced before school began. The case was dismissed without prejudice — meaning plaintiffs had the right to re-file — after a Sept. 2 hearing, during which the court questioned the issue of standing. That issue was resolved. The D.C. Minor Consent Act specifically targets the children of parents who submitted religious exemptions. The law states in part, “If a minor or student is utilizing a religious exemption for vaccination or is opting out of receiving the human papillomavirus vaccine … the healthcare provider shall leave blank, part 3 of the immunization record, and submit the record directly to the minor student’s school.”
Health Canada says convincing parents to vax kids will be ‘quite difficult’ With six COVID-19 related deaths among more than six million children under 15, Health Canada says it is “probably going to be quite difficult” to convince all parents to immunize young children, said Blacklock’s Reporter. “There are parts of the country that are still under-vaccinated,” said Dr. Theresa Tam, chief public health officer. “We do know parents who are unvaccinated. It’s probably going to be quite difficult to convince them their kids need to be vaccinated. Pfizer-BioNtech submitted their version of the children’s vaccine for licensing on October 18 and after a month-long review, the Department of Health approved it for use on November 19. “Once a vaccine has received its authorization it is not considered to be experimental,” said Dr. Supriya Sharma, chief medical advisor at the Department of Health. Sharma recommends children receive two doses, eight weeks apart stating, “if you get a side effect in that period after the vaccination it’s good to be able to know potentially what vaccine it’s related to.” Sharma added there was no evidence “that would cause us to think that there were safety issues or risks.” Based on the most recent available information, rates show few unvaccinated children required hospitalization from COVID-19 between the start of the pandemic in March 2020 to July 2021. Data shows of 6,041,733 children under age 15, a total of 171,254 were infected — 3%. Of those, a total of 780 were hospitalized — 0.01%.
Fauci says babies and toddlers could be eligible for COVID-19 vaccine by early 2022 Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci said Thursday that though he “can’t guarantee it,” babies and toddlers aged 6 months to 5 years could be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination by spring. “Hopefully within a reasonably short period of time, likely the beginning of next year in 2022, in the first quarter of 2022, it will be available to them,” Fauci told Insider in an interview, though he cautioned that he was speculating, adding, “you’ve got to do the clinical trial.” Pfizer-BioNTech previously stated that results from their clinical trial in children in the age ranges of 2 to 5 years and 6 months to 2 years are expected as soon as the fourth quarter of this year. According to a report by ABC Tampa in late October, Pfizer expects to apply this month for approval for its COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 6 months to 5 years, the last age range in the U.S. not yet being vaccinated. “The Food and Drug Administration and CDC won’t approve the vaccine until there’s some data showing safety and efficacy,” Philip Landrigan, a pediatrician and immunologist at Boston College, told CNN Health earlier this month.
Investigation into spike in newborn baby deaths in Scotland A spike in the number of deaths of newborn babies in Scotland is to be investigated. At least 21 babies under four weeks old died in September, a rate of 4.9 per 1,000 births. Infant death rates vary widely from month to month, but the increase is larger than expected from chance alone. Public Health Scotland (PHS) and other agencies will now look into whether the Covid pandemic or other factors could be behind the increase. The average mortality rate among newborns is just over two per 1,000 births. While all child deaths are investigated, the Herald newspaper reported that this wider inquiry was triggered when the mortality rate passed a “control” threshold, designed to pick up abnormal trends in infant deaths. In a commentary on the figures, PHS says: “Exceeding the upper control limit indicates there is a higher likelihood that there are factors beyond random variation that may have contributed to the number of deaths.” PHS said there was “currently no indication of links between these deaths and Covid-19 infection” although the data will be examined further.
National poll: 4 in 5 parents say children today aren’t as thankful as they should be As families prepare to celebrate a holiday focused on gratitude, many parents say their children aren’t as thankful as they should be. Four in five parents in a new national poll agree that children today are not grateful for what they have, with over half of parents worrying that they’re giving their children too much and two in five saying they’re even sometimes “embarrassed by how selfish their child acts.” But most parents do in fact want to raise appreciative kids, with three in four saying it’s a high priority to teach their children gratitude, according to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health at University of Michigan Health. “Many parents may look back to their own childhood and, in comparison, wonder if they are giving their child too much in the way of material things. Parents may have watched their child behave selfishly, such as refusing to share with other children or saying they don’t like a particular gift,” said Mott Poll co-director Sarah Clark, M.P.H.
Special Guests – Nicole Sirotek and Lori Jean
Nicole Sirotek is known as The Original New York Nurse whistleblower. In May 2020 she traveled to NYC at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic to help, she didn’t expect to find gross negligence, complete medical mismanagement, and blatant disregard for human life that she saw in those inner-city hospitals. After a video of her begging for help to save her patient’s life went viral, her life as she previously knew it was destroyed. Nicole made a promise to herself that she would continue to fight to help patients receive safe equitable care, so she founded the American Frontline Nurses and helped create The Advocate Network.
My name is Lori Jean, but many people refer to me as “The ORIGINAL Nurse Advocate.” I am a Critical Care Nurse in Texas and Co-founder of American Frontline Nurses. I am also the founder of United States for Medical Freedom and Texas for Medical Freedom. I am passionate about educating, equipping, and empowering you to know and fight for your rights. I am also passionate about autonomy- which is keeping the freedom of choice in medicine. I’ve helped advocate for thousands of people the last couple of years and am excited to start this advocacy network to teach and train both medical and non-medical professionals how to advocate too.
Today is the deadline for federal workers to be vaccinated More than 90% of federal employees will have had at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose by the end of Monday, the deadline for the largest workforce in the country to get vaccinated under a mandate imposed by President Biden in September. The vast majority of the 3.5 million employees covered by the mandate have been fully vaccinated, said a senior administration official who declined to be identified ahead of the deadline. An additional 5% of workers have requested or received an exception or an extension, the official said. That’s ahead of the pace among all U.S. adults, 71% of whom are fully vaccinated. Federal workers will have all day today to turn in their proof of vaccination. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday that experience with other similar mandates in the private sector indicates there could be a last minute rush to meet the requirements and submit paperwork. The small percentage of federal employees who don’t comply with the mandate today won’t face immediate dismissal. Agencies will continue processing documentation and considering exemptions, including for documented medical necessity. There will be education and counseling for employees who haven’t complied, with the ongoing goal of getting yet more federal workers fully vaccinated.
Why There is a Civic and Moral Duty to Oppose Tyrannical Bureaucracies The searing Russian novel Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman is one of the greatest examinations of totalitarianism ever written. Based on his experiences under Stalin, Grossman depicts how humanity withers under tyranny. Grossman’s book is not a dystopian novel, yet few books better teach how force is used to control a population by not only restricting liberty but also exploiting weaknesses in human nature. Along a flank of the Stalingrad front, two colonels talk about the terrible impact of bureaucrats and bureaucracy. One colonel tells this story: There was an infantry detachment that had been surrounded. The men had nothing to eat. A squadron was ordered to drop them some food by parachute. And then the quartermaster refused to issue the food. He said he needed a signature on the delivery slip and how could the men down below sign for what had been dropped by parachute? And he wouldn’t budge. Finally he received an order from above. The other colonel says, “Bureaucracy can be much more terrifying than that.” He then shares this story: Remember the order: ‘Not one step back’? There was one place where the Germans were mowing our men down by the hundred. All we needed to do was withdraw over the brow of the hill. Strategically, it would have made no difference – and we’d have saved our men and equipment. But the orders were “Not one step back.” And so the men perished and their equipment was destroyed. The conversation continues, and then Grossman has one colonel deliver the punchline: “What’s really terrifying is when you realize that bureaucracy isn’t simply a growth on the body of the State. If it were only that, it could be cut off. No, bureaucracy is the very essence of the State.”
Supplement Attack from Congress in the Works Congress is poised to make it harder to use natural medicine to stave off COVID-19 and other illnesses. Action Alert! There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that new research confirms that vitamin D is a crucial weapon in the fight against COVID. The bad news is that Congress is working on a policy that will make it easier for the FDA to target and eliminate supplements like some forms of vitamin D from the market. We need to make sure this bad idea does not become law. One study found that vitamin D supplementation was associated with less severe COVID-19 outcomes and better survival among frail elderly populations. Reviews looking at all of the evidence so far found that higher blood concentrations of vitamin D are associated with reduced risk and severity of COVID-19. The data reviewed also supports the role of higher blood vitamin D concentrations in reducing risk of infection and death from acute respiratory tract infections, including those from influenza, COVID, and pneumonia. This is on top of other studies which we’ve reported on previously that suggest vitamin D can help with COVID. But our ability to use vitamin D and other natural medicines is threatened by developments in Congress. For a number of months, we’ve been telling you about the dangers of a “mandatory supplement filing” requirement that is percolating around Congress. This policy would create a database of all supplements on the market, potentially including product names, the list of ingredients in each supplement, labels, and additional filings for changes, reformulations, or discontinuations. The mandatory filing could also require that every supplement on the list needs a registration number, which would delay new products coming to the market.
