Welcome Centres are here to support you!
The Welcome Centres in Durham and York Regions are here to help you through this difficult time.
The Centres are temporarily closed, however, staff are still available to support you by providing the following services by phone, email or video (where available):
One-on-one services and group sessions offered by phone and online.
- Information and referrals related to government and community services in the areas of health care, housing, education and training, employment, childcare, child tax benefits, personal finance, social assistance, immigration and citizenship, legal supports, etc.
- Direct referrals to other Welcome Centre services: English language training, employment supports, professional accreditation, and more.
One-on-one and group sessions to support job seekers provided by phone, email or online.
Accreditation Qualification and Information Services (AQIS)
Support provided by phone, email or online.
Language Interpretation Supports
Support provided by phone, email or online.
Real–time e-learning to LINC Level 6.
E-learning Enhanced Language Training/Employment Supports for Internationally Experienced Professionals who have prior experience in one of the following sectors:
- Accounting, Office Administration and Customer Service
- Teaching, Information Technology or Health Care
*The Mobile Unit is also offering Settlement and AQIS virtual appointments in Upper York Region and Simcoe County.
