Last year we learned that Senco had launched their cordless 18V framing nailer that didn’t require the use of consumable cartridges. It used clipped head framing nails and now we’ve learned that they heard what the users want and have made a new model based on that model that can now fire full head nails. The new model is the Senco F-35FRHXP 18V Framing Nailer.

Other than the new ability to take on full head framing nails, it offers many of the features that the original has such as a brushless motor and a sealed compressed air cylinder meaning no ramp up times like traditional battery powered nailers and to expect similar performance to a pneumatic nailer except no need to drag a hose around and operate a noisy compressor. They say “it is capable of sinking nails fully into the hardest substrates, including engineered lumber such as LVL and OSB.” It can drive 2″03-1/2″ framing nails .113” – .131” shank thickness. It also offers the usual amenities like dry-fire lockout, single fire and bump fire modes, tool free depth of drive, and rafter hook. According to Senco, runtime is said to be up to 600 nails with a single 3.0 ah battery. One thing that I’m a little confused of is that they mention that there’s no need for a hose, compressor, or fuel cells, however they mention that the there is a refillable air port. If the tool is self contained, why does it need a refillable air port? I will reach out to Senco about this and will report with the answer.

As a kit it will be priced at $549 and will come with two batteries , a 5-amp quick charger, a no-mar tip and a storage bag.
