There are six different tiered chests in Fortnite Save the World, but could these be introduced to the Battle Royale mode? Here’s how it would work.
Treasure Chests can be found all over the map in Fortnite with set locations they spawn, however chest spawns are completely random where you could find a chest in one game but it may not appear in the same place in the next game. Up until Season 8, there was only one type of chest in the Battle Royale mode, but in the v8.00 update, Epic have introduced a new type of chest, which is equivalent to a Supply Crate and can only be found at the Block.
In the Save the World mode of Fortnite there are six different tiered chests that can ve found and Reddit user Kitteh6660 has suggested that there should be different tiered chests introduced to the Battle Royale mode and has suggested what loot each tier would contain.
Common Chest – Tier 1
This chest would be common and would act the same as the chests already available in the game. It would contain any rarity and could have 1x ammo and materials.
Uncommon Chest – Tier 2
This chest could contain an uncommon, rare, epic or legendary item and it will be guaranteed no common items will be found in this chest. It will have 1.5x ammo and materials.
Rare Chest – Tier 3
This chest could contain a rare, epic or legendary item and it will be guaranteed no common or uncommon items will be found in this chest. It will have 2x ammo and materials.
Epic Chest – Tier 4
This chest could contain an epic or legendary item and it will be guaranteed no common, uncommon or rare items will be found in this chest. It will have 2.5x ammo and materials.
Legendary Chest – Tier 5
This chest would guarantee a legendary item and will have 3x ammo and materials.
Mythic Chest – Tier 6
This chest would guarantee a legendary item (mythic in LTMs), will contain 5x ammo and materials and will guarantee 2x Slurp Juice or a Chug Jug.
You can see all the tiered chests and the loot they would contain below:
These chests would all spawn in the same locations as ordinary chests, but the tier of the chests would change in each match and will be completely random. Kitteh6660 has not specified the spawn rate of each chest, apart from tier 6 where only three of these chests would spawn in a match, like Supply Llamas.
Introducing different tiered chests would help players to get better items quickly, but it could provide an unfair advantage players at the start of the match and there would likely be more early game fights for chests that are more visible. The higher tier chests could be placed in POIs at the edge of the map or in unpopular places to encourage more players to land in these areas.
