You will be familiar with Speedtest- the much famous broadband testing and analysis tool that helps an online user find out how connected they actually are. Speedtest views your service’s performance history, then share and compare with others near you. If you have been using this service by leaving the page you are working on, Speedtest has come up with a way to save your time. Speedtest’s new Chrome extension helps you test your internet performance directly from your Google Chrome toolbar without interruption. Just tap the icon on the toolbar and hit go.

The extension gets your ping, download, and upload speeds within seconds in the Google Chrome toolbar. Speedtest also shows you load times on the site you’re currently looking at. If you close the Chrome extension window during the speed test, it will show your speed in a little bade next to the speed test button.

Performing over 50 million tests every month, Ookla Speedtest is the global standard in Internet connection testing. Speedtest is available on the web and on the iPhone and Android mobile platforms for free. This new Chrome extension works on Windows, OS X (MacOS) other than Chrome OS.

The extension is currently ad-free and that adds another reason why you may want to try it out now. Download Speedtest Chrome extension here.
